David’s 6-part psychological drama, THE COUPLE NEXT DOOR (Eagle Eye Drama), a Channel 4/Starz co-production starring Sam Heughan and Eleanor Tomlinson, TXd on Channel 4 in November 2023. It became the channel’s biggest streaming launch of all time, and has subsequently been sold to 55 countries. The series was re-commissioned for a 2nd series by Channel 4, David again writing all 6 episodes. Starring Annabel Scholey and Sam Palladio, it’s currently filming Winter 2024 for a TX in 2025.

He also recently wrote 3 episodes of SUSPECT S2 (also Eagle Eye Drama) for Channel 4/Britbox International, starring Anne Marie Duff and Dominic Cooper, which TXd on Channel 4 in Summer 2024. Previous to that, he wrote 2 episodes for Season 3 of MARCELLA for ITV/Netflix, including the series finale.

Current developments include Anglo-French noir HOTEL DEAUVILLE for Federation Stories in the UK & Empreinte Digitale in France.

David’s first original series, 4 part serial BOY MEETS GIRL, a comedy drama starring Martin Freeman and Rachael Stirling, TXd on ITV1 in 2009. In 2010, he co-created and wrote BEDLAM, a supernatural series for Sky Living and BBC America, the former’s first original drama commission. Recommissioned by Sky Living, Bedlam Series 2 aired 2012. His original 5 part legal thriller THE CASE TXd on BBC1 Daytime stripped across a week in 2011.

David lives in Leeds with his wife, who also works in the industry, and their 2 children. A music fan and DJ, he hosts a monthly foreign language music show, Mondo Pop, for Alto Radio, and co-hosts an album of the month podcast, This Is Not Happening.
